About The Author

Now you are probably wondering, who is the author of the Killer Stand-Up Comedy System?

He's name is Steve Roye, and he has been in your situation of "not being funny enough."

He was 33 years old in 1992 when he started his stand-up comedy career - for the second time.  What makes someone even think about becoming a comedian?

The reasons he had were the exact same reasons you have now.

He was an medical educator in the Navy at the time (he retired from active duty in 1999) and he took another stab at it, because...

He could make a classroom full of students laugh so hard that it would disturb the other classes -- teaching what would normally be considered painfully dry and boring topics.

So he figured that taking a shot at stand-up comedy wouldn't really be that hard.  He remembers vividly what he was thinking when he first made the decision to become a stand-up comedian.

And then there came one strange night...

"All he had to do was write some jokes, tell them on stage and soon he would be discovered!

It can't be that hard.
And he knew he can be funnier than anybody on TV."

or so he thought...

He admits being naive in the beginning.

He studied joke-writing techniques day and night. He wrote joke after joke, then rewrote them over and over again until he believed they were as funny as they could possibly be.
He spent countless hours memorizing and performing my "killer jokes."

He couldn't believe what happened next...

Most of his material didn't work. The material that did work didn't work well at all. And his wasn't about once or twice. He was about having below-average to poor performances on a consistent basis -- for months.

He was teaching classes in the evenings to supplement my income. On one particular evening, he strayed into a non-related topic and had the class laughing so hard, the building manager came over to the room to see what was going on. Now this kind of thing happened before, but something different sparked his attention.

He knew he was on to something -- he just had to figure it out. He was determined to find out why he could make people laugh when he was just being myself, but when he got on stage, he was mediocre at best.

Well, he did figure it out, and when he did...

He has helped not only professional comedians, but normal people like you and me in bringing on the laughs in their homes as well.

Hey Steve,

"In January of this year I decided to get serious about my comedy career.  I have done a ton of research and bought a ton of books on how to write and perform comedy.

"I was disappointed to learn how hard it was, trying to write jokes out of thin air.  No wonder it takes 7 - 10 years to get good using conventional comedy wisdom.

"In despair, I continued my research and found the Killer Stand-up Comedy System.

"I had nothing to lose so I invested in your system and Oh My God...

"Within a day I had written 6 pages of material. I learned the value of your system and working with bulk material.

"Thank you Steve for offering such a great value.

"I have been trying some of my material on unsuspecting co-workers, WOW what a hit. I have always been able to make everyone laugh, but now I am making them laugh harder. I am far more confident now with my comedy material then I was even just two weeks ago.

"Once again, I have to thank you for your wonderful program!"
You too can make a name for yourself in the world of comedy,

Immediately, he threw out almost all of his old comedy material.

He ignored everything he had read on writing and performing "jokes" and started over. He began to create specific tools and techniques based on his new discovery to develop comedy material.

Almost overnight, He had managed to work out an easy, step-by-step system for developing and performing stand-up comedy material on stage.

Did it really work?

Well, I will just say that the system was so powerful...

He went from a struggling no-body with a seriously lame stand-up comedy act at open mikes to headlining 600- to 1500-seat theaters in less than 2 years after throwing out his jokes that had been poorly written "from thin air".
